DC Creative Director and Publisher said: “The entire DC family is heartbroken by the news of Legendary Batman artist Tim Sale dies.

Tim was born in Ithaca, New York, in 1956. In DC, he teamed up with writer Jeph Loeb to revive The Challengers of the Unknown. And these two writers formed a lasting partnership and created a series of memorable Batman stories, including Batman: Long Halloween. Tim’s artwork quickly made him a fan favorite.

Tim and Jeph create some of DC’s best-selling series, including Batman: Dark Victory and Superman For All Seasons. As for Marvel, they created successful comic book series with Hulk, Spider-Man, and Daredevil.

At Marvel, Sale and Loeb produced color comic books including Daredevil: Yellow, Spider-Man: Blue, Hulk: Gray, and Captain America: White.

Marvel Entertainment mentioned the Color books in its tribute to today’s Sale: “Tim Sale is a legendary artist who has created comic masterpieces inside and outside the industry. At Marvel, his Color series has become a stunning classic and is just a glimpse into his lauded legacy. ”

The legendary cartoonist’s passing was confirmed on social media after his Twitter account changed its name to ‘Remember Tim Sale‘.

He is best known for his hit works like Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight Halloween Specials, Batman: The Long Halloween, Batman: Dark Victor and has influenced many creative generations.

A post on his personal page on Thursday: “I am sad to announce that Tim Sale passed away today.

“He got through with the love of his life by his side, and loves you all so much. Share the pictures and stories under this post, as we hope to share them with the community copper.”

The post follows a comment by DC Creative Director and Publisher Jim Lee earlier in the week telling how unwell the artist is.
